Constellations

Constellations- the stars that shine for me.

i look to the sky and i see pearls so bright,

they show me the way- they show what’s right,

in the choking grip of darkness it’s a beautiful sight,

alone they are lanterns but together they are…

light. light in the night.

constellations, constellations so bright.

on my journey to find there are hills that i climb,

i toil through the harshness- i strive through strife,

to reach the end having made something of life,

and when darkness falls I don’t worry- and why?

cos…

in the choking grip of darkness there’s a beautiful sight,

alone the stars are lanterns but together they are…

light. light in the night.

constellations, constellations so bright.

i stroll along the pathways, i run on the roads,

in the lush green meadows i see a ruby red rose,

so delicate so fragrant and for my eyes alone,

oh her perfection- my air she does adorn,

but when the gloom ensues it shan’t fright-

cos…

in the choking grip of darkness there’s a beautiful sight,

alone the stars are lanterns but together they are…

light. light in the night.

constellations, constellations so bright.

after many a twist, at a crossroad i stand confused,

to build my own path, or traverse one so often used?

how many have pondered this, how many have mused?

the wind is joyous in my plight, the birds fly amused,

which direction? i cry bewildered and bemused-

but at the rise of my pale shadow i do delight

cos when…

i look to the sky and i see pearls so bright,

they show me the way- they show what’s right,

in the choking grip of darkness it’s a beautiful sight,

alone they are lanterns but together they are…

light. light in the night.

constellations, constellations so bright.

my journey at an end, i ascended a great height,

the pitfalls i faced you may cite as struggles of fight,

but the meadows, oh the rose, made the problems slight,

i tasted love and happiness thanks to …the light.

the light in the night.

Constellations. Constellations so bright.
